What song to choose for the first dance?
The first dance is one of the most important moments at a wedding, and perhaps in a lifetime. It is the moment when the bride and groom present themselves to the guests and dance for the first time as husband and wife. Not surprisingly, then, choosing the song for the first wedding dance is so important. The right song will create the unforgettable mood of this moment. It will remain in the memory of all wedding participants as the main part of the celebration.
In this article, we will provide some tips on what to do to ensure that the first dance at the wedding takes place with the right accompaniment. We will also give some examples of songs that can help you in this challenge.
Why is the choice of song for the first dance important?
There are at least several reasons why the choreography for the first dance and the song should be chosen perfectly. First and foremost, it is a matter of sheer taste of the newlyweds. Choosing the right rhythm and tempo will allow you to feel comfortable on the dance floor. If you are in love with dynamic sound, then a fast and energetic song will turn out to be a perfect solution. For enthusiasts of slow, romantic melodies, the ideal choice will be a love ballad.
Another criterion is the difficulty of the dance arrangement itself. When it comes to the first dance, songs give a specific rhythm to the newlyweds. So, if you feel that complex figures and a jaunty pace are not a comfortable option for you – it’s worth finding a song that will not require long learning.
How do you choose the perfect song for your first dance?
Think about your favorite performers – which one comes to your mind when you think “our song for the first dance“? Consider choosing a song that has special meaning or is associated with important moments for you. Of course, there are many universal classics suitable for this special performance, while it is always a good idea to find something that simply reminds you of the day you met, your first trip together, a kiss or another special moment.
Many couples rely on the element of surprise – they want to shock the wedding party with an unobvious choice of song and dance. If you bet on creativity, both the first dance and the song can be outside the classic wedding repertoire. Everything, of course, depends on your idea, imagination and the specifics of the wedding itself. Remember that it is YOU who should feel comfortable. It’s your day, so choose something consistent with your own tastes. Invited guests will certainly enjoy the party if the smile does not disappear from your faces.
You can talk to the DJ or band members who will be in charge of the wedding setting. Chances are, they will help you choose the perfect song for your first dance.
